Once I had finished the perforation and cut the vinyl to size I needed to fit them to the doorcards.
I didnt feel confident about it so asked the trimmer who redid my front seats but he was swamped with work and considering that these vinyl pieces I had was the very last I could find in the correct vinyl he wasnt willing either.

That meant I had to do it myself😬
I took it very easy and worked my way around the doorcard not glueing to big areas at the same time. The area that was perforated I did first. It was a pain but I finally got it done and it looks totally as it did from Porsche 🥳 I treated myself to a beer in the backseat once I was finished!🍺

This meant the car was finished apart from oilchange in the engine and gearbox.

Here is the final result of the doorcards and interior. I am very pleased I must say🙂

Ok so time for my first testdrive! My 13 yearold son ofcoarse wanted to come and he also wanted to make a video of it. He used his android and made his own fasteners. Next time we will use a gopro so the outside can be shown while driving. Anyhow you get the feeling of it🥳
Also the countryside here in Sweden aint to shabby 🇸🇪🥰

Just spectacular -- I've been waiting to see the whole thing like that, and I love the video with actual sounds. The interior is just so perfect for that car and the paint looks great. Just a great job all around! In honor of your work, I made one of your pictures the icon for the 928 board if that's ok. :)

Thanks alot Tom! I am honored that you want to use my car as a icon for the 928 board🙂🤝

I have delibaretely kept pictures of the whole car out of this thread on hold for it to be completed, gets more exiting that way😉

It has been a very enjoyable journey and I have learned alot while working on this car. I still have things on the list "too do" but none are critical and now I just want to enjoy this exceptional piece of engineering that Porsche procuced👏

Today, June 6th is Swedens national day🇸🇪
To celebrate it me and my kids went to a event with "bring your old enginepowered whatever" There were many different cool stuff present including a 993 RS Clubsport and 356 Speedster racecar😀

We know how much this restoration has been a labor of love for you and it shows. Your completed 928 defies description.
Absolutely stunning.. So great to see you now enjoying driving on the open road after 15 months. My hat is off to you.

Thanks for the video Pefa. Nice scenery and your 928 looks beautiful. Your drive brings back memories of driving my father's '79 928 5-speed. Keeping your car as original as possible was a good choice too. I'm afraid I could never do that though as I've made modifications to virtually every car I ever owned... from the '62 Corvair I had in high school to what I have now. Guess it's in the blood as they say.

Now what are you going to do with all your free time, ha, ha.

Yes I usually modify my cars aswell. Currently besides the 928 I have a 968 Turbo S replica that I built prior to this renovation, far from stock😉 Also a tuned Saab 9000 Aero and I have a Porsche 924 S project on the shelf. That will be a "924RS" with a tuned 968 engine and 6 speed gearbox when finished. Also a 1962 Saab 96 twostroke that needs some work and also an extension on the house I am doing so not to worry, I know what to do with my time🤣🍻

Wow, that's quite an impressive list of cars. You should post details on the 968 Turbo S replica. I'm thinking of putting together a similar 8V 3.0 for my 951.
