That intake looks fantastic. I've done jet hot several times, and it does work, look great, and last a long time. My only reservation about them is that two times I've had the 2/3 header come back with the flanges warped enough to make getting them on a real challenge. One of the was so bad it now serves as a door stop for my backyard gate... If I were to do it again, I'd be tempted to make some kind of thick steel mounting flange to bolt them to, in an effort to reduce or eliminate warp. They don't warp under the heat of the exhaust, so figure that must happen as a result of baking the coating without the flanges bolted to anything....

I had excellent results from Jet Hot.mwc951 wrote: Sun Dec 04, 2022 8:03 am I prefer Jet Hot coating.
Classic Polish is good to 1250 degrees and looks beautiful.
I did heat shields, coolant pipes, etc.
The turbo down pipe & WG pipes got Ultra good to 2500 degrees.
Kooks SS headers/X-pipe/exh for a previous track-car-only '09 Z06 (sold in 2020) that were drop-shipped to Jet Hot for coating.
Summer 2019 when received:
8 months later they still looked good:

I have a set of SFR Stage 1 headers waiting to replace cracked OE header.Tom wrote: Sun Dec 04, 2022 8:13 am That intake looks fantastic. Want to have them coated before installation.
Great idea Tom. I'll follow your advice and bolt them to a jig before sending them off.

I'd imagine a couple of 1/4" flat bars from Home Depot. with holes drilled to mate with the flanges. is all you'd need.... If you try it, please report back.mwc951 wrote: Sun Dec 04, 2022 12:59 pmI have a set of SFR Stage 1 headers waiting to replace cracked OE header.Tom wrote: Sun Dec 04, 2022 8:13 am That intake looks fantastic.
