Hey everyone! I hope that all is well. I have a 1987 Summer Yellow 944 Turbo that I’m getting ready for 944Fest. I’m in the process of getting major maintenance done that includes rebuilding my stock K26/6 turbo and upgrading it to an Evergreen Turbo with Raptor X #6 mods that will make it a “hybrid” K27/6. Does anyone have any experience with this upgrade? I currently have the Lindsey Racing 951 Max Performance chips, 3.0 Bar fuel pressure regulator, Lindsey Racing boost enhancer, Focus 9 Technology Sport DME with OBD+, Lindsey Racing silicone K27 J Boot, and cat delete. Everything else, including the fuel injectors and wastegate, are stock. Are there any mods that I need to install in order to safely run this setup? The boost enhancer is set to 10psi (stock) and the chips are supposed to limit the boost to 15.5 psi. I’m not looking for crazy horsepower gains as I street drive my 951 as often as I can. I plan on upgrading the injectors, wastegate with boost controller, a new tune, and other supporting mods in the future. I just want to make sure that my 951 runs safely (no plans for the track) and will make the 800 mile roundtrip to VIR. Any advice, suggestions, word of caution, etc. is greatly appreciated.

It won’t blow up your engine if that’s what you’re asking, as long as you’re limiting boost.

Do a search for k27/6 fitment requirements. You might have to bend the top feed pipe (forget if it’s the oil or water line). Or buy AN lines from Lindsey. It’s a tight fit.

You might also want to check if the 951 Max chip supports the increased air flow. It won’t hurt anything it just won’t run optimally or full potential. Though it might not be an issue since you are limiting boost.

You will need a chip (or tune) that will increase fuel when you really start pushing the turbo.

I have an Autothority chip that originally came with the Pauer Tuning k27/6. Really had a kick, and that was with everything stock. I’ve since had the same turbo upgraded to Raptor X by Evergreen. That chip should work well with your Raptor X. PM me if you’re interested. Also have a Rogue A-Tune that I also used with the Raptor X, but that will require splicing into your wiring harness to connect the MAP sensor.

It’s a nice turbo. I really enjoyed it at VIR last year.
