My sunroof seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes it opens and won't close. Other times it opens halfway and stops. The latest malfunction was it wouldn't open, but it would go to the released position... and not move back to locked. Usually that was the "fix" in the past. Not this time! So it was time to dive in.
I followed all the checks that Clark's covers. Even though I've checked the microseitches at the motor assembly before, surely one of them is out of spec. Nope, they all tested good. The relays were also tested.

Clark says the only other parts that could cause this are the open/close switch or the microswitch in the roof. I was relatively confident the switch was working (I also didn't want to pull all that apart). On to the last microswitch. It gave a satisfying click, which ALMOST always means it's good. Well, not this time!

Time to hit the parts car 😎
