Since I bought my Zermatt silver 951 project car the driver window wouldn’t go down but I could hear a click. The door panel had all the original covers and screws and had never been removed.

I took out the regulator with the motor then connected the motor separately and it would slightly move and heard a grinding. At first I thought it was rust. I took apart the motor and discovered that one of the magnets had somehow fractured. Strange type of failure I did not expect. I already ordered a new motor but has anyone had this type of failure happen?

Like Tom, I have never seen that before.

At some point in the last 40 years, it may have been hit or dropped, causing the fracture.
