It really is easy. The 1/4 turn plug even keeps the hot oil from running down your arm.

Yes, towards the front. Some say the angle helps the oil drain better. I put the oil cap back on before removing the plug to slow the flow, then removed it to speed up the process.996C438 wrote: Wed Nov 12, 2025 2:55 am So on this model the drain plug is at the front of the sump ? Another note, on my 992.2 I did not have to remove the coolant cap for the top cover to clear, just the oil cap.
