Late 65 911 Coupe value?

New to me 1965/66 Porsche 911 Coupe, November 1965.
Rust and accident free, original paint and interior, all numbers matching.
Always in southern California, two family owned second family 40 plus years.
Looking for help on insurance value.

That’s looks like a clean and beautiful example. Without more information about mileage, interior condition, how well it runs etc. I would probably insure it for somewhere in the $60-80k range. That being said, ask yourself what you would be willing to sell it for. I have a ‘67 not in as good of condition as yours, but loaded with memories and emotional value. It was the very first car I bought when I was a teenager and I am lucky to still have it today. So my emotionally based number will be much higher than the actual value…

Either way, enjoy that beauty and make a million memories of your own in it!!!

More info needed as noted above but insure for " Stated Value " and that can be accomplished with specialty companies like Grundy, Hagerty, and even many conventional Insurance companies like State Farm, American Family, etc. Give us as much information as possible on the vehicle including any updates, maintenance and things needed.

Not "stated value", you want "agreed value". Very different coverages.

Stated value is a cap, a maximum payout in event of total loss, but insurer can still pay less than the cap if they feel the real market value (RMV) is less than the stated value.

Agreed value is just that—the amount they must pay for total loss. The only hazard here is that you need to watch and adjust the value as the market changes, especially as values increase.

But I expect @nwexcop knows this since he is asking for help assigning value. Unfortunately, I haven't followed the market for early 911s in almost 4 years, since I sold my '72 911T. And most '72s (mine included) aren't in the same league as a really nice '65-66.

Thank you for your replies.
The car is truly exceptional, original paint, interior, glass, chrome etc. and no rust.
I have all of the documents since new including the registrations for the 17 years the car was in storage.
I purchased a 65 C Cabrio from the same family in the same condition, waited 12 years before they were ready to sell the car.
