Hi All,

I'm currently going through and ordering a full set of replacement bushes for my car and the rear axle carrier mounts are looking to cost more than everything else put together! Has anyone had any experience with using the solid replacement options out there or should I just bite the bullet while the rubber parts are still available? Will there be a significant increase in NVH?

Looking at 296 euro for solid vs 957 euro for the OEM parts!

At those prices, I'd be looking at ways to refurbish the original parts. You can buy silicones that will cure to different hardnesses, is that a path to rebuild some of the degraded rubber? Meaning, can you seal things up well enough to have something cure in place?

ETA: If you want to see what I'm talking about you can search for casting compounds on McMaster Carr. I'm not sure where you are so that might not be a viable source, but will give you an idea of what you can look for. Generally speaking, I think that a pound would be more than enough to get what you want done.

Those are terrible numbers to see!
Cheers

Been using this for over 10 years now, no meaningful increase in NVH: https://www.9products.com/product/1860/ ... semi-solid

I think a lot of people fill the gaps in the old one with polyurethane. Then you have a semi-solid mount for about $13. I don't recall any noticeable increase in NVH.

I'm not referring to the trans mount. I've already filled that with poly

Sorry, my bad, although the same goes for the other mounts as well. Been using solid ones for quite some time now on a street-driven 944 NA, no downsides whatsoever.
