SOLVED - 2025 Cars and TPMS - OEM part number check from dealership required for this vehicle?

I recently purchased a 2025 718 Cayman and have a bunch of spare wheels from my previous car.
I'd like to use them for practice and competition tires for autocross and stuff.
When I look at the website of a vendor I've used in the past to purchase TPMS sensors, I see this note for all the 2025 Porsche models in their fitment information:

* OEM part number check from dealership required for this vehicle.

I've reached out to them, but with the holiday weekend I don't expect a quick reply, so I thought I'd ask here.

Does anyone have experience with the TPMS sensors and swapping wheels on the 2025 cars?

For my 987.2 I was able to have the sensors installed with the tires, and use the dashboard interface to reset the wheels when I switched them. It worked easily and I never had a problem.

Is the process different now? Is this OEM part number check something that only happens once and then I can swap wheels or does it need to happen each time?!? Is there a tool I can get as an owner to do it, or does it really require a visit to a Porsche center?

Hopefully I'm over complicating this and it will "just work"?

Of course you could do like I do and many others and just skip the TPMS for track wheels. I can actually state I have never had a set on my track wheels in 43+ years racing or autocrossing. They are convenient, but since I religiously check the tires after every run session , it really is not critical in my estimation. So keep that in mind as another alternative.

I do the same as WillyDaP regarding checking pressures and recording same upon exiting the car immediately after removing my helmet.

However, I will also add that I religiously use the TPMS system in the GT4 - the readings are extremely accurate. I find it quite helpful in noting pressures while on track and also at pit-in, so I always have sensors in all wheels, including winter sets for the other P-cars. I've never had any issues. Check and reset the wheel/tire/season (whatever is available) in the PCM and then drive the car for a few miles so it can relearn. The days of needing a reset tool of some kind are over now too, at least as far as I can tell. (Need one? I have an one left over from Corvette days! Lol)

As for your compatibility/setup question, obviously my GT4 is 4-years older but still the same 982 gen Cayman, so I wouldn't think that there are any changes to TPMS systems. I swap wheels and tires all the time with no issues.

I also swap wheels back and fourth often and have no trouble. I do like the TPMS installed for track work, I personalty would go through the effort get a set for your extra wheels.

They are basic 433mhz sensors, you don't have to get them from Porsche. Yes just like your 987 you can use the dashboard interface to swap to the new set. Simply use the menu to choose a different set, the tire light will come on and then you are ready. The car needs to see differences in wheel speed to determine what corner they are so do lots of turns or slalom back and fourth a few times to speed up the learning speed.

I know Apex Wheels sells them ( TPMS ) and they may even be on Sale for the 4th of July celebration. They might still be available on Monday at a discount/

Thanks for the replies everyone. The vendor I'm working with clarified:

In 2025 Porsche changed TPMS Fitments. Some have older OE Part Numbers and some have the newer one so that's why we ask for the TPMS OE Part number

Calling my dealership and pretending to be interested in purchasing a set of genuine OEM sensors confirmed the part number for my VIN as: 9A7 907 275 02

Which matches the part number they have in stock and pending in my order, not certain if that's the old or new but I think its sorted.

Once the wheels are on, they confirmed there should be no issue getting the car to detect them.
