I just noticed when I place the transmission in reverse and back up, if the radio is playing the audio volume level automatically lowers significantly.

I assume this is to allow the "beeps" from proximity sensors to be heard more easily.

BTW my car has surround view - probably doesn't matter.

You can turn off the setting that turns off the radio when parking if you prefer. It does it every time the cameras are activated, rear or front doesn't matter.

I'll have to figure that out. It's in the PCM menu options somewhere?

I can’t remember if it’s in a sound setting or an assistance setting but it’s definitely there.
