I was at Watkins Glen and talking to a couple of guys running Shelby GT350Rs and looking at their brakes. One of the guys worked at a Ford dealership and he told me how much the 6 piston Brembo calipers cost……WTF!!! I may need to get some of these and figure out how to fit them.

Probably safe to say Ford has sold more Mustangs than the sum total of all Porsches ever sold. Volume has its advantages....

true, but $202 for a new 6 piston Brembo? makes me wonder if these are made by Ford under licence.

Check the other part numbers. That one you posted looks like a complete pain to change pads.

Also you can get a set of used 18Zs for about $250ish...

The rotors they are paired with on the car are 15.5" (393mm). You might have a size problem.

18Z's are truck brakes, they weigh WAY too much for a sports car.

Nobody other than the 1% (like a Chris White car) would need more than M030 brakes (med. black Brembos front, small blacks rear).

Yes, overkill for the street but pretty nice on track day! BYW - cayenne rotors fit GT3....way cheaper but way heavier!

That sounds like an uninformed opinion. I changed my stock single piston calipers on my Audi S4 to 6 piston 18Z units for less weight and better braking. Rotor size was nearly the same. Your biggest weight issue is up sizing rotors.

You can get giro disc ect for 2 pc rotors that work with less weight since they'll have an aluminum hat.

The 18Z is a phenomenal caliper and can work very well when balanced with the correct rear calipers. Tons of pads to choose from also. Macan, Mustang, RS3 also have good sized pistons for multiple vehicles.
