Carrera GTs x 18 at PLÁTICA

If you haven't heard of Plática yet, here you go with a fantastic intro. I expect Plática coverage to surge, including in dedicated Porsche publications such as Panorama and Porsche circles everywhere.

Plática is the event put on by Harper Porsche out of Knoxville, TN, a dealership heavily involved in all things revolving around Porsche and Porsche motorsports which is outstanding!

Articles and associated buzz of the most recent event from two-weeks ago featuring eighteen (!) Carrera GTs are beginning to pop up in many places such as this one published yesterday in Road & Track:

"You may not have heard of Porsche Plática before, but odds are, you will again soon. The group wants to be the next big Porsche event, and it’s already off to a running start by hosting what they claim to be the largest gathering of Carrera GTs ever."

"The second installment of Plática took place on May 4th outside of Knoxville, Tennessee, and while there were 65 Porsches on display at the show, the big draw was a collection of 18 Carrera GTs. Even Porsche Cars of North America brought a Carrera GT from its collection out to the show."

All of the 65 cars on display were specially selected and invited. I wasn't there due to a scheduling conflict but will go next year for sure.

Wow-what a gathering. The Carrera GT remains the very best car of any kind that I have driven hard. Unforgettable, not hugely forgiving but viscerally exciting with one of the best soundtracks ever.

Porsche Plática translates to “Porsche Talk” as suggested by a Spanish-speaking friend of Shannon Harper.

"Incredible collection of CGTs that made the trek, including the only Zanzibar Red example (still enjoyed by the original owner), the original Oak Green launch car, and two Porsche Sunderwunsch re-commissioning projects."

I remember the pics you posted from a few years ago. So nice! I imagine the experience of driving one would never go away, not that I would know.

And yes, very expensive then and now.
