I replaced my dashboard using the instructions Tom published on carpokes. Really excellent guide. Here is my video on YouTube what I did and it includes a time lapse on the whole removal and installation. I have not found another video about the complete job

Great video, and thank you for the carpokes shout out! The end result looks fantastic! I'm adding a step to include the missing turn-signal stalk removal, and will post that soon -- very much appreciate the close review of the carpokes guide and that comment. You have way more energy than I do, doing all of that in one day like that. It looks like you had to fuss a bit to get the dash back on and situated properly? Any tips there?
If you had any interest documenting the oil pan gasket work into a Carpokes procedure similar to the dash removal one, I'd be thrilled and happy to format/write/edit as needed. Not sure how close you are to carpokes headquarters, but I have just about every tool one might need for a 944. There are endless opinions on the best way to get the gasket to seal, as well as the modified 3-piece cross member to make the job easier next time. Local 944 guy, @Crazy Eddie, did his oil pan in situ a while back, and could give you an earful I'm sure.

Hi Tom
The fiddling of the dash was two things. I did not realize the passenger vent hose was present in the replacement dash and I was trying to install over my original. Felt stupid over that. 2nd tte center vent is in upright position, meaning the silver flap which directs air up or to vents was vertical. If that was set horizontally then dash would have slid straight on. As it happened I needed to navigate over it.
The oil pan project, I can certainly have a go at documenting it and do a vlog.
I am based in Cotati CA in Northbay. Not sure where Carpokes HQ is.

Good info on the defrost vent. I'll make sure to close it.mickeybharat wrote: Tue Feb 01, 2022 12:54 pm Hi Tom

I'm down in Silicon Valley, so maybe an hour and half to 2 hours away. Send me a PM, or email me at admin at carpokes.com if/when you are up for doing a PDF guide of the oil pan gasket. No pressure. The video and pdf could complement each other nicely, much like your dash video. It slows you down and takes some patience to document each step. I have a computer in the garage and generally go back to the computer and take notes of each step as I go, taking tons of pictures, then go back and marry the pics with the notes, and develop the notes into a readable pdf. If you did pics and a running list of steps like that, I could do as much of the rest as you'd like.... My goal is to have as many how-to docs like this as possible on carpokes, covering all the major jobs on the car, and the oil pan gasket certainly qualifies.... There are tons of good how-to's out there, including clarks for sure, but I think it's helpful to add lots of pictures and give real-world explanations of how to actually accomplish the steps that others sometimes just list (e.g., step 1, remove engine; step 2....)
