Anyone here actually get a GT4RS allocation or know anyone personally who got one (i.e., more than a deposit and a vague promise to be on some endless list)? If diehard Porsche buyers can't get them, where to they all go? Flippers, past 918 buyers and pseudo-celebrities?

Absolutely! Same in Southern Florida - $150k ADM. In comparison, same dealer (not mine) was asking $50k ADM for winged GT3 and $75k ADM for GT3 Touring.

I haven't put in a real effort...I'm too discouraged by what I'm seeing.

Unfortunately, I'm not a 918 VIP, so the ADM for me will be real. I feel like my only hope is to wait out the production run and see if I can catch something towards the tail end...way after the 992 GT3 RS has come out and hopefully take away some of the hype.

Yeah, if these reports of a $150k ADM are true, the car loses its value proposition to me. That would put it well north of $300k for a car with typical options. As great a car it is, $300k+ is a whole different automotive ball park. You can buy some mighty nice cars for that kind of money.

I would like to see Porsche follow GM's example. This was just published:

"General Motors has sent a letter to its dealer body, warning them they could have their vehicle allocation redirected if they charge customers above MSRP for products like the 2023 Corvette Z06 and 2024 Chevy Silverado EV, among others.

In the letter sent to dealerships this week, GM said it is aware of some dealerships that have been “demanding money above and beyond the reservation amounts set in GM’s program rules and/or have requested customers to pay sums far in excess of MSRP in order to purchase or lease a vehicle.” This applies to 2023 Corvette Z06 and 2024 Chevy Silverado EV orders, but also those of all upcoming products such as the Cadillac Lyriq, the GMC Hummer EV pickup and Hummer EV SUV, the GMC Sierra EV as well as the Chevy Equinox EV and Blazer EV crossovers.

In the letter, GM said it will be “forced to take action if it learns of any unethical sales practices or brokering activities that undermine the integrity,” of its brands. This could include rerouting a dealership’s 2023 Corvette Z06 or 2024 Chevy Silverado EV allocations to a more well-behaved storefront, or taking “other recourse prescribed by the Dealer Sales and Service Agreement.” It’s worth noting that GM has no legally backed way to force dealerships to sell its products for a certain price, so these retailers are not breaking the law with this practice, but are simply engaged in behavior that GM corporate finds unbecoming of the brand."

If that plays out, you could get 3 Z06's for what you'd pay for a GT4RS at $150k ADM -- and have money left over! I'll take them in red, white, and blue. ;) This all makes me think of Ferrari. I never understood how they reconciled their elite brand with the seamy underworld of buying a new one. It's like trying to buy drugs or something....

As a first time buyer I refused to play the Ferrari game and, with a little patience, was able to get an allocation for a 458 Spyder from the SF dealership. They are great to work with.

I actually have a Z06 reservation deposit at MSRP that I placed way back when. I checked recently and was told that I am #46 on the dealer's list. Not sure I'm going to take it at this point. Entirely dependent on how much I enjoy the GT3 when she arrives and I'm on the list for the GT3RS.

I spoke with the General Sale Manager at my dealer in SW Florida. He said right now, the only people in line for a GT4RS are 918 Spyder buyers, from the dealership they purchased the 918 from. If they receive allocations beyond that, they will be offered to long term customers who have purchased many cars from them in the last 5 years They sell at MSRP. I do not qualify for their requirements. Although I do have a 2022 Spyder at the Emden port waiting to be shipped here. I'm really good with that, and feel fortunate to have a Spyder on it's way to me. Projected 3-25-22 delivery.

You have to wonder how long 918 buyers will keep getting this special treatment? Are 918 buyers from nearly a decade ago really worthy of this two-class system among present day Porsche buyers? What about the guys who have spent more since then buying brand new Turbos and Panameras and Taycans with each new model? Not good enough for a GT4RS? :problem: Good for this dealer selling at MSRP though. I totally get capitalism and the $150k ADM's, but the dealers have a monopoly on selling new Porsches, so it feels like they are exploiting that monopoly more than just being capitalists. If Porsche doubled the MSRP, then I'd say that's capitalism in action, but I suppose it's kind of a gift from the factory to the dealers -- otherwise they'd clamp down on the dealers like Chevy did.
