? Door locking Mechanism -Double beep

So things started with the double beep and light for the alarm system Turning on. The alarm light would come and go. When the light is ON , the passenger door side the window will not drop from either inside nor outside.
Now the alarm light mostly stays on but at times when it happens to turn OFF the one thing I notice is that passenger door window WILL drop with both the inside handle and the outside handle. It works normally.
The window regulator was replaced by the previous owner about two years ago. The window moves up and down without issues. It does not drop if push down on the window.
I have not put the car on a code reader.
From what I see around , a new door locking mechanism is likely in order … I just wanted to make sure I’m on the right track here.

Sounds like you are on the right path, door latch is a very common problem for 986,996 and 997.

Thanks. The problem is lack of non Porsche made parts for the right/passenger door as I see…
Uro only makes the left.
Vemo doesn’t seem the make the right anymore.
Am I stuck with 700$ Porsche part vs trying to change the micro switch ?
