Always interesting to see what niggling things have gone wrong with months of storage. I cam back from putting the Arizona cars away for the summer and drove the Panamera from Scottsdale to Toronto with lots of stops on the way. Of course it needed a full service when I returned and will need tires this fall.
Then time to get the 911s back onto the road.
There was nothing at all when they went into storage.
The 991RS was , as usual , perfect. Went through inspection with nothing to be done.
The 992RS had a couple of recalls, including refitting the front and rear glass as the original sealing was inadequate, and also she reprogramming of the airbags in the LWBs.
This turned out to be time consuming as the rear glass chipped when it was being removed so a new part had to be added with a few weeks delay. Good news is that the glass has arrived ands I expect the car back this week.
It will ship to Germany in August for some events, and that in turn means it needs a warning triangle, first aid kit and yellow jacket . I have the leather two in other cars but the warning triangle had nowhere to go. Not sure where it is on the European cars. but dealer is arranging a velcro fit in the rear deck ( there is no frunk and the vents in the hood make that unworkable too.
The 997 was an expensive recommissioning. It needed tires ( I was aware last fall) and had sprung a bad leak in the air-conditioning evaporator. We decided to do a fair sized replacement and bring it all up to snuff,. Wish I had the leak last year when I had the Porsche Classic PCM fitted ,but no worries.
Now as good as new, but also had a few weeks wait for the parts.
