I second P_Coastal's welcome to Carpokes!
Regarding 991 exhausts, while I don't have specific recommendations, others here may have ideas, so hopefully someone will chime in. There are some great options out there - Soul Performance and Kline Innovations are two I have a bit of experience with. There are others.

I agree on the need for exhaust improvement for 991s & 992s. My GT4 stock exhaust sounded considerably superior to that of the stock exhaust on the Turbo S. I have since added Soul OAPs to the GT4 and it's even better! It's now about perfect for me. A friend went with a Kline setup and his sounds awesome!
I'll be upgrading the exhaust on the 992 TTS someday!

I've heard a SOUL exhaust on a 991 and must say it sounds great. It's not cheap though, and I don't know of any aftermarket exhaust that is truly factory-approved for warranty purposes -- they may be out there, I don't know, but I haven't seen any in my travels. Although bad-form in my opinion, it's not beyond the realm of possibility to have Porsche deny coverage (or try to) for an engine failure if it had an aftermarket exhaust, especially one that adds power or eliminates cats, emissions parts, etc. That said, they sure sound cool....

The dealer installs all my aftermarket upgrades and they do the same for many others with newer 911s, 718s, etc. Other dealers do the same. I'd be more concerned about emissions and vehicle inspection issues that some states impose, at least based on conversations I've read and heard about. Fortunately, that is not an issue where I live.
I know this is a hot-button topic but I don't think anything like upgrades to exhaust systems, suspensions, wheels, tires, brake systems, fluids, etc., etc. would ever have a negative effect on Porsche's warranty, outside of not covering the actual aftermarket part of course. This is especially true for the top tier aftermarket companies out there, many of whom work directly and indirectly with Porsche to develop improved and enhanced components. I've been told this directly and in-person by a highly placed PCNA service exec. Of course, that's not an official pronouncement - it was off the record - and anything can happen if Porsche was sufficiently po'd, so YMMV as they say.
However, I lose no sleep over the many things I do to my Porsches. Porsche loves the enthusiast enhancements, the competition, the racing aspects and more. They don't ever want to make unnecessary waves over those kinds of upgrades.
Also, in the original poster's case (IWM), it's a 2013 model that is being asked about, so the 4-yr wty is long gone anyway.
My 2-cents.

Very realistic and practical take and I don't disagree at all. My comments were more in the nature of whether the police can pull you over for going 27 in a 25mph zone. Would they? Very rarely. Could they? Technically, yes.
Thanks for the input. My warranty is the Certified Porsche Pre-Owned warranty with about 30 months left on it. It looks to me like the terms are the same as they are for the new car warranty. But I hope never to need to find out. IWM

Good for you on the CPO! The terms are the same as the new car version except that you probably have unlimited mileage on the 2-yr CPO wty.IWM wrote: Sat Feb 24, 2024 10:53 am Thanks for the input. I figure if the dealer is involved in the plot, at the very least I'll have a great alibi plus a co-defendant!Tom wrote: Sat Feb 24, 2024 10:43 am

Absolutely. So we're agreed, Ian should go for it...blueline wrote: Sat Feb 24, 2024 11:30 amI figure if the dealer is involved in the plot, at the very least I'll have a great alibi plus a co-defendant!Tom wrote: Sat Feb 24, 2024 10:43 am
