3.0 engine, nikasil with Mahle custom pistons, nice rods and fancy internals. Garret gtx series 2 turbo, 4 into 1 headers, link ecu, a bunch of Tial stuff and lots of plumbing. Trying a new boost control set up, seems like more fun than a round knob!

Nice work as usual.
How easy were the Mahle pistons to aquire?
When I can afford it I have to buy 1 set of 3.0ish pistons and 2 or 3 sets of 2.5l pistons as I have to Nikasil 3 blocks of my own and friends 2.5

No problem with Mahle, I have found they are the best company to work with. They will make anything you want and the manufacturing tolerances are way better than all the others I have worked with. Highly recommendgruhsy wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 6:03 am Nice work as usual.

Intake pipe came with the car, needs a little repair!AudiSport wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 7:45 am @chris white Tell me more about the cam sync adapter and the intake pipe.
The cam sensor is an Audi unit with my own adapter plate and trigger wheel. Hall effect and looks pretty cool.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the Lindsey manifold (owner already had it) but after working with it the access to stuff around the turbo is really nice
Do you sell those adapters and do you have a crank trigger or using flywheel? I'll need to get this figured out soon.chris white wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 8:19 amIntake pipe came with the car, needs a little repair!AudiSport wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 7:45 am @chris white Tell me more about the cam sync adapter and the intake pipe.

Yes, I also have a front mount 60-2 crank trigger wheel, sensor bracket and sensor (hall effect) that I have been making for quite a while. works great, easy to get to.

Wish I would have known about that cam synch kit when I was assembling my standalone system. That's a very clean, nice looking solution. I like that it uses an OEM sensor too.

The cam sensor orientation is interesting.

it will go 180 degrees if you want it. I just felt like pointing the wires down this time!
