Hi all,
I noticed in my '22 992 that when I put car in reverse the passenger mirror tilts up and not down as it is supposed to. I imagine this is a software fix but seems odd. Anyone else experience this?

I had a BMW that did that, and it needed a sensor/part of some kind and to be reprogrammed. I'm embarrassed to say I don't think I've ever even looked at my 992 mirrors in reverse, thanks to the big back up screen with rear camera and cool bird's eye view. I'll check it out this afternoon and get back to you though.... Any chance it's part of some user/key-programmable setting on these cars?Tedrudich wrote: Tue Oct 19, 2021 10:16 am Hi all,

What option did you select to have the mirrors move in reverse? I have power folding mirrors but they don’t tilt down in reverse (like they do on my M3) and it drives me nuts! I’ve come to rely on that feature to stay away from curbs.Tedrudich wrote: Tue Oct 19, 2021 10:16 am Hi all,

So I played around with mine today and must say they seem to have a mind of their own. However, my guess is that you just need to adjust your 'reverse' mirror position. Put the car in reverse. While in reverse, adjust the mirror down or however you want it in reverse. Then put it in drive and go about your business. Next time you put it in reverse, it should return to wherever you set it last.
If it's not working at all, it looks like it can be turned on and off via the instrument cluster, going to Vehicle > Settings > Light & Visibility > Revers Opt. > Lower Mirror
This is all on page 162 of the 2021 992 owners manual, probably nearby that in the 2022 manual....

There is a setting in the PCM that allows mirror to tilt down when in reverse. I also have the optional folding mirrors.Baliano wrote: Tue Oct 19, 2021 7:22 pmWhat option did you select to have the mirrors move in reverse? Tom, I think you are correct. It seems counter intuitive, but yes. My BMW's were pretty simple and straightforward. Put in reverse, mirror tilted down, put in drive it goes back to setting. Minor issue for sure. I will give it a try this morning. Thanks for looking into it for me.Tom wrote: Tue Oct 19, 2021 8:01 pm So I played around with mine today and must say they seem to have a mind of their own. Assuming you have the memory package, when you select the passengers side mirror to dip on the PCM screen, make sure you have the car in reverse to make take effect. This is a vestige of the old memory SW from the 996 and forward cars.Tedrudich wrote: Wed Oct 20, 2021 4:21 amThere is a setting in the PCM that allows mirror to tilt down when in reverse.
