All -
I am on the tail end of my 951 rebuild project (engine, interior, etc.). When I got the car it was already disassembled, so I am looking at a lot of pictures of other cars and reading to see where things go.
So I have the dash back in and have reconnected the instrument panel in the hopes of an initial start soon (need to be able to see oil pressure). I have power to the car. I am converting to a Microsquirt ECU setup and have it powered from the DME relay through a series of new relays for the MS, fuel injectors, and ignition coils. The engine harness is all new.
When I switch the ignition to on, I would expect to see the dash warning lights illuminate for a bit. The only thing I get is the '!' light. If I switch the lights on, I can faintly see the 'parking lights' indicator light up. I do have LEDs in the dash indicators, but based on research I have polarity correct for these.
When the ignition switches on, I can see each gauge "lift" ever so slightly, and the volt gauge reads about 12. I assume with this check in place and the '!' lit that I am getting power to the cluster.
I have the alarm module out of the car right now, but I do have the plug jumpered as recommended to bypass from Clark's. I did notice that in his photos the module is still in the car with the jumpers. Does the fact that it is out of the car make any difference?
Thanks all -
