Sweet! Welcome to Carpokes and thanks for the pic!

I understand the intentions to make your 944 a summer car knowing what winters can be like in Minny. Winter there can be challenging!

Bloomington, unfortunately the car is garaged at college in central Iowa for the upcoming winter.

Luke and Notny,
I understand your plights, since living about 20 minutes North of Omaha, Winter means parking of the Porsches for many of us. Now that you have found Carpokes drop in frequently as this is a good place to get rid of the Carless Cabin Fever Blues, and there is a tremendous amount of data on 924/944/968 models here. Winter is a great time for car projects or gathering of information for those of us in the chilly Midwest. Welcome to you both!

Thanks Willy, that's exactly what I am doing. I have a few projects going on right now:

I'm in the process of acquiring all of the parts and installing a rear wiper on my red 951, which never had one. The wiper arm that I got with the motor was a little rusty so I gave it the wire wheel treatment to take all of the rust and loose paint off and I am repainting that now. It is looking very nice! I'm also having to lengthen the pins on the back of the wiper motor bracket so they reach the holes in the bottom/rear of the hatch.

I'm doing the same for the central locking system. The car didn't have that option either. I thought I had all of the parts accounted for but the guy I bought the door wiring harnesses from ended up refunding me for the passenger side because he apparently already sold it and no longer had one to send.

I want to replace the front oil seal on my white 951 as I have a fairly substantial leak and I think that is the source.

I purchased a Blaupunkt Reno that will probably go in the red one as well. I don't mind the pioneer system that is currently in the car but I like the factory look.

Lastly, I have a set of 16x7 fuchs wheels on the way that I will be restoring. Still looking for the elusive 16x8 with 23.3 offset for the rear...

Welcome from the state just east. We just shuffled the cars today, sniff. The 911 has winter tires, but with two recent nuisance snow falls, the roads are dirty and salty so I’d rather drive my wife’s Jeep.
