I’m new to Carpokes. Have 2008 997.1. What performance air filters do you prefer we and why? I do track occasionally and autocross. Thanks Erik

Hi Erik - welcome to Carpokes!

I don't have an answer to your air filter question but someone on the forum should have experience with a 997.1 and hopefully will see your post soon.

Flat 6 Motorsports, Soul Performance (and I'm sure other sellers) list a BMC High Performance air filter for 997.1 Carrera's that looks pretty good. It's a place to start anyway.

Cheers!
Tim

Lost an engine in a race car due to aftermarket filter failure. For the alleged small power increase, they are not worth the risk. Just use the factory type filter and do a driver's school.

Thanks for your response. I have taken many HPD classes and regularly race autocross.

I agree that there isn't much to be gained from aftermarket air filters. There's a lot more to be gained on the exhaust side of the equation. I would also stick with stock. I don't think it's high risk, but it's expensive for little to no benefit.
