fuel injectors leaking

I have a 1985.5 N/A 944 .. and I just did the head gasket replacement and all the parts/gaskets ect. that go with that, along with a few upgrades ... I also benched cleaned the fuel injectors and replaced all the o-rings and seats ... I buttoned it all up and let fuel rail fill and then started the car ... it ran pretty good and the timing seemed good .. but I noticed the fuel was leaking out of the injector seats ... so I shut it off, pulled neg cable, took all the fuel rail/injector parts off and checked everything, reseated everything and tightened down ... re-buttoned up .. started it up again .. running good ... leaking much less, but still leaking out of each seat area

anybody got any suggestions ??

Where did you get the o-rings? My random internet guess is that maybe you used the wrong ones? And/or the pintle cap and spacer are not right or on wrong. Maybe post a pic of the assembled injectors so we can look for clues.

I can take pics tomorrow when i tear it down again ... but in the mean time .. i bought the kit from lindsey racing

but the seat caps are yellow ... the injectors are black with brown top areas and the bottom part has a an o-ring the plastic ring and a space .. so is there supposed to be an o-ring sandwich down there ? (o-ring, plastic ring, then o-ring)

ya they def dont look like this .. there is a big space between plastic ring and bottom of inj body .. so do I gotta press the seat on better i guess .. it felt like it was all the way on though .. do I have to press pintle thru hole ? .. press hard on seat more ?

Bosch has included the wrong pintle caps for the 944 injectors for years. Almost all resellers give you the yellow Bosch (incorrect) caps, which don't seat all the way, like you are describing, so most people just keep the originals. No idea if Lindsey has sorted that out with their kit, but I'm guessing not based on your experience. The only retailer I know that supplies the right caps for sure is @Rennbay. I thinking the Rennbay kit would fix your leak...

thanks so much .. you just saved me a bunch of headaches .. i knew i did everything correct .. i was very careful and took months to do the whole job .. im ordering the rennbay kit .. ya the pic at rennbay even matches the color of the old parts

I'd be a little surprised if Lindsey isn't aware of the cap issue, since it's been discussed many many times online, but the hats in the Bosch reseal kit just aren't right. And the no-name caps all seem to replicate the Bosch versions. Those caps are too tall and keep the injector from seating all the way down, which in turn keeps the o-ring from sinking down far enough to make a good seal. In fact, if you look at yours fully assembled now, I bet you'll see that bottom o-ring only partially engaged in its port.....

Heres the rennbay ones now in blue appearently, next to the previous leaky ones ... and I just installed the rennbay ones ... works like a charm .. no leaks ... 3d printed timing belt tool and 3d printed cam gear tool worked like a charm, belts all working good, no leaks, no white smoke ... took it for a ride, it's been down for 2 years because I was overseas for a bit .. it was quite exciting to drive it again !!
