Went to clean the front windshield using the windshield washer - nothing - no noise no sign of life from the motor. I think the fuse is the same as the headlight cleaning sprayer and that was good. Headlight cleaning works fine
Anyone have the pleasure of R/R the motor involved , or any other ideas on what it could be

This is on a 2015 981 Cayman

Sorry about that. If the fuse checks out, I'd find the connector going to the motor and check it for power with a multi meter when you try to activate it. If it's getting power and the pump doesn't do anything, then it's probably just gone bad. Never changed one on 981, but doesn't look too bad...

The pumps appear to be under $100, so not terrible, and it looks like there are some low priced aftermarket pumps too....

Very possible. Could also be something in the harness from the stalk to the pump -- like a frayed wire at the connector. That's pretty common on older Porsches, though yours may be a bit young for that. Likewise, the power needs to be getting to the stalk, but if everything else on the stalk works and all fuses are ok, seems pretty unlikely that would be the issue. Let us know what you find. You already saved yourself the trouble of replacing a good pump, so I'd say it's time well spent so far!

yes , seems strange, with the other washer ( headlight) working from the stalk and the wipers likewise hard one to source the cause. I may spend some time with a volt meter and see if, where I may be loosing power to the connector . Its funny , the reality of me using the washer ( I never really go out in inclement weather, unless I have to) is pretty low. Its just the knowing it doesn't work....the car guy in me
