Depends on what group you will be racing with, SCCA, NASA, PCA? When looking at a car, look at the cost of consumables.
Buying an already built car is cheaper then buying a street car and building it into a race car.
Spec Boxster or Spec 996 would be where I would be heading if I was getting back into racing.
