What kind of mount is everyone using for their action camera on the bar behind the seats in a Cayman? I have only used a suction cup on the windshield in the past. I have a HPDE scheduled in October and was thinking about mounting my camera on the bar. Thanks!

You should consider the go pro mount from Rennline ( I have it and like it a lot )
It extends off the front tow hook
I’m not sure if it’s in the same place on the 718 vs the 981?
I also love the Porsche precision track app which I use the iPhone on the windshield

I have never used the Porsche precision track app. I have now downloaded it to give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just got a Hero10 and interested in best suction cup mount. Does anyone mount to the glass wind deflector behind the seats? Also, any recommendation on good Mic to set up near exhaust?

I just stuck a standard mount on my GT4 cross bar. There's a cool 3D printed one out there on ebay, and I think the design is on whatever site it is people share 3D files. I need to try it since I just got a printer and it would be a good practice piece.

If the licensing permits, post the STL in the 3D print section here! If you are new to 3D printing, be aware that standard PLA tends to warp/melt in/on a hot car. Best to print car parts in ABS if your printer is set up for that. And if I can help, just let me know. :)

Last year I found the 3D printer files online for this mount, and my brother-in-law printed the mount for me. It works well and very stable. I wired tied for extra safety on track days but not really needed. Apparently I have the cover on upside down.

I use a simple expansion/scissor type mount, similar to a clothespin. It holds just fine on the package bar and you can run a external mic cable out the back deck lid. Use painter's tape to attach it to your license plate and you'll get great sound to go with the video.

I've bought the Flat 6 Motorsports bar mount. Its 3D printed, not too bad in price:
