GT4 WHEELS ON A '17 CAYMAN S?
As another way to separate myself from the crowd, I was thinking about adding GT4 wheels and appropriate larger tire sizes to my '17 cayman S. Does anyone know if they will fit without spacers or any other modifications. I asked Aldo from SunCoast and he isn't permitted to answer that question. Although it states on their site that they might fit other Boxster/Cayman models.
Here are the wheel specs of GT4/Spyder (982):
Front: 8.5J x 20 ET61 wheels with 245/35 ZR20 tires
Rear: 11J x 20 ET50 wheels with 295/30 ZR20 tires
Your '17 S has different specs, of course. GT4 wheels will clear; but, the offsets are different. Then there is the issue of increasing the unsprung weight. You'll be negatively impacting the handling. You can personalize the vehicle with quality aftermarket wheels such as Forgeline or HRE while keeping the stock specs and actually reducing the unsprung weight.
