Now just need to put engine back together!
These temps are Celsius not that ancient Fahrenheit measurement
I cold soaked a 951 at below 0 to make sure the standalone would start it. The tough part was that you only got 1 cold start every couple of hours. As soon as it fired up it wasn’t really a cold start the next time!Thom wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 10:19 am Wish I will experience such cold air one day. I love super cold weather when the air is dry.
Good luck and stay warm. I wouldn't even try to start the 951 in such cold.
When I was in High School (back during the Millard Fillmore administration), we used to fill the big round air filter assemblies with ice and were convinced it was worth 50 horsepower. Surprised we didn't hydro-lock the engine in hindsight.chris white wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 2:27 pmI cold soaked a 951 at below 0 to make sure the standalone would start it. Yes... in my limited experience cold starts take the longest time to tune correctly on a new engine.chris white wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 2:27 pmI cold soaked a 951 at below 0 to make sure the standalone would start it.
