Okay, newbie here. Is there a tech forum on Carpokes? I have a 997 and would like to pose questions I have about repairs and whatnot, and I can't really find the place to do that. What am I missing? Is there a dedicated tech section for specific generations or do we just post tech / repair questions in the general "instructions and technical files" area or what??? I'm not a genius on computers and need to be set straight!

Other than that, this looks like a good site if we can get car issues resolved and I hope I can add to the site over time. Thanks, folks!

Hi Tom and welcome to Carpokes! There are separate forums for each general type of car. The 997 falls into our water-cooled 911 group (996, 997, 991, 992), and it's the first forum listed under "Porsche Sports Cars" on the main index page. If you click the link below, it will take you to that forum.

The car-specific forums are intended for tech questions and/or anything relating to those cars. That said, we're still gathering here on Carpokes so are pretty informal -- hard to do anything 'wrong' if your intentions are good. :) BTW, what color is your car? Is that amethyst? If so, pictures are a must. :)

Thanks a lot, Tom! I do see now that there are some tech questions posted in that (water cooled) section, so that is where I'll be! My car is "Carmon Red". Similar to Amethyst but less purpley blue, and nearer to just plain old burgundy or maroon. I appreciate your help.
