Sunroof operation

Hello,
I am trying to trouble shoot my non functioning sunroof on my 1986 turbo. I found one bad relay by the motor that controls the direction, 431 951 253D. When I press the switch the other relay clicks but nothing else happens. I removed the motor and connected it to a 12V source and the motor turns but it pulses, is this normal ? I also checked the fuse in the main fuse block under the hood and it is good. Is there possibly another fuse somewhere else or another relay ?

There are two limit switches in the motor/cable assembly that can be out of adjustment or stop working. Clarks-Garage has a few good pages for troubleshooting the sunroof.

IDK when they made the change, but at least some 86 Turbos have the early style sunroof mechanism. Porsche made a retrofit kit, but the last one was purchased about a year ago.
