New Bosch WR7DC+ plugs fitted tonight.

Took some pics of the old plugs. I am no expert on reading plugs but look pretty good to me with small differences but good colors I believe so healthy engine.

Anyone good at this? Anything to investigate further or worry about?

I would say they look pretty good. Number 8 (in just one pic) may be a tiny bit rich but, in other pics looks just fine so not sure. How many miles are on them?

Here's a quick video by Pat Goss (Goss' Garage) that may be helpful -

Thanks for reply and yes number 8 is a bit more sooty/richer but I guess no big deal. The plugs have 15000 km on them.

There's an inspection-list item that grabbed my attention :ugeek: in your front-apron picture, and that's the missing washer and circlip on the link for the headlight motor. No worries if you aren't going to be driving the car before the repaint, as the headlight motor and the crossbar and links will be removed anyway. If you do decide to drive it now, putting a new washer and clip on that link will keep it from coming off and puncturing the radiator. For cars with AC, the condenser is usually the first victim of a stray link. At least yours is missing just the bottom-end pieces, so less risk of serious damage.

Enjoy the project!
Dr Bob I finally got that circlip and washer fitted so the headlight linkage is now complete again🙂 Thanks for the heads up👌

Lookin' good! Hmmm, that looks like new gas cap too. I purchased one for one of my cars but haven't figured out how to move the key tumbler assembly from the old to the new. Any hints? Thanks.

Thanks🙂
Filler cap is thoroughly cleaned old one.
I will look at it and see if I can figure it out or maybe someone here has done what you face and can chime in?

I believe that it is a huge PITA to disassemble the gas cap for maintenance and/or repair.

Jerry Feather (on RL) has made some tools to work with the gas cap but, to be perfectly honest, I don't know what the problem is that is meant to be addressed, but it does not seem like a straightforward effort.

Perhaps @dr bob can chime in, I know he has deep knowledge on most every aspect of these cars..

Probably best to start a new thread with the question.

It takes four hands and a small collection of wedges plus some hot water to get the orange outer shell off. Then the pins in the lock cylinder get moved around until they work with your key. Many choose to install just the pins that they already have that fit their key, since you are only trying to keep the cap from being casually removed as a prize at this point.
