After a few more events and lots of playing with shock valves and tire pressures I can definitely say that the car handles great. Body roll is respectable and the car feels planted firm. It darts in hard to a corner and just holds whatever angle you want. I have it balanced for a fun and predictable amount of oversteer if you just chuck it in. Thankfully the car's still perfectly comfortable for street driving and I don't even bother softening the shocks.

The car now corners hard enough that a seat mount started to rip from the floor pan. I assume this is mostly due to having broken the seat sliders loose with a scissor jack and sledge hammer. I beat the original tin foil back into shape, welded up the cracks, and added a 1/8" reinforcing plate.

Over Thanksgiving break I finally tackled the tattered seats. I used a reuphostery kit from Only944. I'm holding off doing carpet and back seats since a bit of water is still finding its way in. The hatch glass has definitely separated from the frame and I need to read up more on how to fix that.

Solid work over the past year to my largely non-mechanic eyes. Nicely done!

Also, superb AX course and a great lap!

@jsheradin you posted “I indexed the new torsion bars per Clark's Garage and everything fell back together without much fuss. I was within eccentric bolt adjustment range on the first attempt. I made a quick 3D printed jig to help with spring plate angle measurements. I can upload the model and measurements if anyone wants them.”

I am starting the torsion bar R&R and have a question. When you took out the bolt 5 (torsion tube lower aft bolt with spacer) from the Clark’s procedure, how much drop did you get vs before removing the bolt?

Also, I am interested in the 3d printer model for the jig.
Thank you,
Lee

You deserve a hearty congrats! As someone who has tinkered for over 50 yrs I only wish I had the time to dive into. a project like yours. How lucky you are to not have to spend $7k like I did.

After removing the limiting spacer, the trailing arms swung about 14.6deg from ride height angle.

I've uploaded the models and my stock measurements here: https://www.printables.com/model/164583 ... dexing-jig

I seem to have lost the excel sheet where I calculated out the new measurements for 29mm bars but I more or less followed Clark's procedure.
