I bet that cover is something they probably didn’t expect to be removed!

Carpokes: minutia is our middle name!

Darwin, can you confirm the inside diameter? Drill bits can help you size them if needed. Random aside, I finally got a set of metric drill bits from Amazon, and am kicking myself for not getting them sooner. Very helpful around these cars. Anyway, the plastic nut I have (thanks to you) look good, but the hole is 'used' and self-barbed.... I figure if I do a 3D printed model it might as well be exact. :)

Yes they are still available from the dealer but mine is quite the drive and they don't ship. I just want to drill and tap some plastic blocks lol

Does anyone have a good picture or two of this cover installed under the dash? I'm finally getting back to my dash and went to install the one Darwin got me, and not sure how it's even oriented when installed....

Still not getting it. What year is your car Dan? I have 944.610.219.00 which PET seems to say is correct for the '86, but it looks like there was an updated one for '88, which maybe you have? See where the yellow and red arrows point in yours versus mine -- clearly different. I can get it in place, it's just not big/deep enough to cover the harness and reach the mounting posts above -- not even close.... ?
