944 Speedometer Needle Shaft Repair

This is great information. My background in materials science makes me want to caution everyone that when the aluminum tubes start to oxidize, it will create an oxidation layer that could increase friction over time. The copper material would probably be more resistant and only darken in color with negligible effect on resistance. I will definitely take a closer look at my speedometer and this repair.
