Yes, it's the people - they're behind everything forum-related (and elsewhere) and are what counts.RDMcG wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 8:40 am Long time RL member. Less structured than the local PCA forum for this purpose. I rarely go to the general sections.

The vast majority of people on RL are great. They deserve better from RL management in my opinion, though I suppose that is self-evident by the very existence of Carpokes.blueline wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 8:46 amYes, it's the people - they're behind everything forum-related (and elsewhere) and are what counts.RDMcG wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 8:40 am Long time RL member. Have a dig into the Off Topic > Politics & Debate forum and you quickly see there's an undercurrent to the place…

It is many years since I last had a look but I cannot remember coming across more deranged individuals or at least mindsets than in the RL OT forum. Almost unsurprisingly you would hardly see them post about cars at all.

You'd have to be banned to be a refugee and that is not the case here. I just came across Carpokes on YouTube by accident. I am member of other Porsche sites that I am hardly on. Only so much time in a day.
But what I hate on RL are members who cannot read. I am highly into tech stuff. When I am in the "Porsche Technical Discussion Area" for the models I own and sometimes a model I do not own, I expect to read threads that are technical, not a bunch of fluff. How is "What is my car worth", technical? Ever heard of Autotrader, BAT or Hemmings? And then there is the "Help me choose my wheels" (or anything) thread. Excuse me, you own a Porsche and you can't decide that for yourself? No issues with those threads but there are other folders you can post "general stuff" in. Mods should take care of that.
And then there is all the vendor spamming in some threads who will argue with you about something they know little about. LOL

And that is the way it should be along with car related topics such as local meets, etc.Jay Wellwood wrote: Tue Jan 02, 2024 6:33 pmRennlist was started years ago by a Porsche enthusiast with the idea of bring others together to share tips and how to information.
Why they have non-car related fluff on there such as politics, watches (I love watches), guns (I love guns) and aircraft (being a past flight instructor) and whatever else non-car related is on the RL forum is beyond me.
