Who can make me one of these valve covers to fit a S/S2 head? Perhaps 3D print, CNC machined, cast?? Any ideas?
TIA

Do you have a CAD model?

I have nothing but pictures. Being OG, I lack many of the more modern skills to create stuff like this. Speaking of CAD, I'd also like a CAD created for an intake manifold I'm working on. I can provide a sketch with dimensions....
Michael, there was a replica of the Boss car made and it was very faithful to the original. He made a thread on Rennlist and I'll try to dig around to find it. I'm pretty sure they were based in France. From memory the cam cover was a very good copy. However I've also noticed a couple of interesting cars on the Racecarsdirect site. One of them says it's a replica of the same car although the cam cover isn't the same as what I remembered, granted failing memory notwithstanding. Here's the link to the 944 specific page on that for sale site. They've alluded to the model without achieving a perfect copy of the cam cover. Pic attached.

Oh, here's the Rennlist thread. Amazing build! Looks like Thom had made some contact with the owner/builder. Perhaps ask him if he saw it or for any contact details?
This from the thread;
"Yes you're right this is one of the improvements we still have to do. I've got the 3D model and done a master to do the casting but it was with a small 3D printing machine (So many pieces like the one in picture) and the result is not as nice as i expected (deformations). I need to find a subcontractor able to realize the part in only one step and not in several pieces i have to weld but the hardest is to find it for a "reasonable price". Price for this type of work is really high (over 2500 without the casting) so, for the first tests we prefered run the car in security with the Factory came cover . Potential Oil leaking and hot Turbo together are not doing good things"

Lastly (and sorry for flooding this thread Michael), I would think you can get someone to 'CAD-up' your intake relatively easily? But if not, I could potentially put you in touch with the guy that made mine. He could do a model and produce the product from CNC billet but as a one off, it would be prohibitively expensive. I can attest to that. In saying that, the US dollar buys a lot of Au$$ie product with the exchange rates! Flick me an email if you wish.
Mike have you thought of talking to someone like Lance Hayward who is well versed in getting parts cast? I'm not sure CNC would give you what you're after. The casting on the manifold he built me is top notch.
He is in Quebec I am pretty sure.
