On to the next ‘upgrade’ restomod thoughts! The community input is very helpful.
The interior is getting a complete replacement & upgrade. New carpet, seat recover in leather, Dash in Alcantra or leather, new door panels and something for the console.
Love to hear any ideas.
One area that seems to be split is the stereo/infotainment. Some folks like the retro look single din units and some are more interested in a double din touch screen set up. I am kind of an audio nut so the speakers will be much better and we need some DSP in the amplification system to tune it to the car – but head unit is kind of wide open.
We looked at a lot of Singer projects and its quite common for him to use a fabric, usually plaid, in the doors, seats and dash inserts. Feel free to post any pics that you think are cool (event if not a 944)

thanks

I'm not sure if you are looking for original 944 interiors, but my fav one is by far the burgundy half leather with porsche script. It's just glorious. Another Porsche original favorite is Pascha from the 928, but the dark blue / black version. Very nice!

No, not original stuff - we are looking for input to what an updated interior might look like.
Here are some Singer 911 examples. The Singer 911’s are an earlier decade but it gives you an idea of what is possible.

One possibility is to use the rear seat delete option that is used on the cabrios. I saw a pix on RL a long time ago and found out that is what the OP used. I ended up buying one but have never installed it, but always thought it would be handy for the cubbies or possible speaker/amplifier space.

I've also looked at lots of Singer interiors as well (just look at Belgian951 pix above) and think they use a variation of the Vallelunga seat from time to time from GTS Classics which appeal to me...as well as German Square Weave carpet which to my eye gives a nod to original early Porsche interior atmosphere/effect. Leather seating surface can get hot so cloth insert might be useful for temp control. The woven leather with round vents Singer has used might stretch and distort over time, but unclear on that possible eventuality.
Door cards seem dependent on personal taste but would use similar structure to what my 951 has, but needs leather covering similar to the Aime Leon Dore interior.

Some form of back up camera in the stereo screen would be quite useful as seeing the curb behind you when parking is difficult. The earlier Nissan Rogue had a nice option at one time that once reverse was engaged, an image would pop up in the rear view mirror. Since then I have seen several variations of back up camera image from various vendors.
I also like the nod to history with the round wood shift knob similar to 917(?) and Carrera GT.

BTW - interesting that you posted the Aime Leon Dor interior, we are planning on using the company that did that work. We have talked to them about different scopes and they are open to pretty much anything.

For me I like RS spec versions. Door cards with strap pulls, no pockets, no speakers. No stereo for me, I like to listen to the car. If I need music, i'll just put it on my phone. I put Recaro Sportster GT seats in mine, only because when I needed seats to replace the previous owner's disintegrating Corbeaus, the Profi XL was having a recall because of a problem with mounting points.

I have a very minimalistic style when it comes to my car at least. But that's just me. I don't need all the bells and whistles. You should provide an option for that route of styling depending on the buyer.

I haven't had a stereo in my car for 15years, it doesn't have much in the way of silencing in the exhaust either.
