Hoping that others will add to this thread over time, sharing experiences and thoughts on Porsche's European Delivery Program.
Even though I doubt I'll ever do one, it would be great to hear about the adventures of others, similar to the fantastic travelogue that Luke and Andrew put together on their twofer 2023 adventure chronicled in depth on Carpokes: The GTS Chronicles.
Meanwhile, there's this: a PCA Tech Tactics video of Euro Delivery insider secrets. Video goes live tomorrow, Feb 7th at PCA's YouTube channel.
That's a fine Super Constellation - great name for a great airplane!

I tried to do this and/or the California PEC delivery when I ordered mine. But that wonderful apocalypse took the options off the table. Now, my financial advisor won't let me order another car to experience this.

Went from free to $2000 for the Porsche Experience in Atlanta since I surprisingly got to order a 24 instead of a 23. It was one of the first 100 Cayman's built but I lost the free Atlanta Delivery and I decided that 2K could go alot better towards a set of tires and Apex wheels! Love to hear about others European deliveries and like blueline I doubt I will ever do one, but one should never say never.

The Financial Advisor Restrictions (FAR) have been mulled before. I suggest a bribe...

Yeah, that $2k out of the blue for the privilege of spending a bunch more for the trip was a surprise. It's almost as though Porsche wanted/wants to limit the numbers.WillyDaP wrote: Wed Feb 07, 2024 4:52 am Went from free to $2000 for the Porsche Experience in Atlanta since I surprisingly got to order a 24 instead of a 23. But I too love the fact that the $2k ($12k when all said and done?) can always be put to use in other vehicle-oriented ways!

I have done a few Euro deliveries- an E63 BMW M6 and two GT3RS. Would have done more but could not get them scheduled.
The great thing is that they are insured for track,so I always do a couple of thousand km and then head for the Nürburgring and Spa.

Interesting. So, whose insurance covers track excursions while on a Euro delivery? Are you talking about insurance you provide or is that something that Porsche and/or other manufacturers offer (or include?) for track driving in Europe?

In my experience Porsche covers you for Tourist days at the Nürburgring as does BMW. I think you get three weeks insurance but it's been a while. Full track days you are on your own, and when I was at Spa the people running the track day said that most insurance does not apply..and there were a few cars written off that day including a new GT3. Worth checking the coverage if you are doing Euro delivery.blueline wrote: Wed Feb 07, 2024 8:06 am Interesting. So, whose insurance covers track excursions while on a Euro delivery? I was lucky enough to take delivery of our 2019 Carrera T in April 2019. It did not disappoint. Of course, this was prior to Covid, and the world was still completely open. The factory tour and delivery was as good as imagined. We drove through Germany, Switzerland and a bit of Austria. During our delivery in Stuttgart, we were warned of speed cameras "everywhere" in Switzerland. Some conversation from the Porsche Representative describing potential jail time for certain speed violations in Switzerland. All my wife heard was....1 kph over speed limit, and "jail".... She told me NOT to go to jail during our trip, or she'd head for home without me or the "T". I kept her advice in the back of my head. We did survive Switzerland!
Then, of course we were pulled over on the German Autobahn about 15km. from the Austrian border. Of course, my wife was not pleased and asked me about our speed. Only about 120 mph I explained, but we were in an unlimited speed zone, so no worries! They had seen our temporary tags issued on the front and rear of the car. Four gentleman in an E class Mercedes Touring came up from behind, pulled in front of our car at speed, and a small video screen with a message in German appeared in their back window. I'm guessing that it said, "would you kindly pull over".. which I did. Four representatives surrounded our Carrera T and politely checked our paperwork for 15 minutes. They thanked us for our time, and asked us to enjoy our day, which we still were, since no jail time was involved!
The Carrera T will likely be with me for the rest of my days. It is wonderful on road and track. Great for a spirited drive through the mountains, or a long cross country trip. So grateful for the entire experience. Cheers!
