A Carpokes member recently commented on the audio quality of his radio install.
I thought it would be informative to run a poll of all Carpoke's to determine what owners are specifying for their vehicles and their level of satisfaction - so here we go !!!!
I have limited the poll to reflect "recent" radio choices i.e. Base, Bose and Burmester.

Can't we cheat and vote multiple times? (I ̶s̶t̶o̶l̶e̶ borrowed your smilies...)
I voted Burmester "satisfied" which would apply to two Porsche's. For the less-than-perfect environment provided in a vehicle cabin, I think the Burms are great!
Also would vote "satisfied" for the std Sound Package Plus w/8-speakers in the '21 GT4. (Although, as stated elsewhere, I rarely use the audio in that car so maybe I'm submitting a slightly flawed response)

I'm pretty sure I have Bose (too lazy to go out to the garage to check), and I voted not satisfied because it does not have AM. I have heard of AM/FM and AM only, but never in my life had I ever heard of FM only.

I was pretty surprised by that too, but guess it's becoming the new norm. I listen to local AM primarily for local sports, and -- at least so far -- I've been able to find my games on the SiriusXM. No idea why they eliminated AM as it I imagine it would cost pennies to include.
@nvbirdman -- very glad to hear you got your car! Have you posted pictures I missed?
WSJ had an article last week saying that AM radio was on its way out. I did not read the article but that was the gist as I understand it. However, many are disputing that piece from the WSJ saying it's speculation.
The lack in cars boils down to auto manufacturers saving money. Europe is apparently doing away w/AM so many (most? all?) European manufacturers no longer offer AM radios, including Porsche.
Interference from electronics and electric vehicles doesn't play well with AM reception but proper shielding would cure that. Tesla has no AM radio. (I read somewhere that Tesla will add AM as a $500 option but no idea if that's true or not.)
I think AM lasts in the U.S. and other parts of the world with large land masses and thin populations in those areas due to the advantages of AM over FM in that respect. But then there is satellite to offset that advantage if one doesn't figure in subscription costs of satellite vs free AM and its commercials.
AM may be old fashioned but it has some advantages. It will be ashamed if manufacturers, the FCC , et al kill AM.

Tom, I assume you mean the AM stations available through Sirius XM? I do too when I need a college game not available on ESPN or similar.
And I have Bose which is fine for me. My hearing isn't great anymore and the noise level in Mt 4.0 is pretty high, so I really don't think any system would be much of an improvement.
