As jinky as it sounds, I managed to turn landscaping edging into a pretty sweet front lip:

Here's what I used:
- Easy Flex edging from Lowes - $20. It's 1.5" high and made in USA from recycled plastic in keeping with my sustainability goals
- 24x24x1/4" black ABS plastic from Amazon (also made in USA) - $40
- Stainless hardware from Amazon or local hardware shop - $30

I used cardboard to do a mock up of the underbody attachment pieces:

All the pieces:

Attachment pieces installed. Uses existing mounting points.

I sandwiched the bottom edge of the front clip between the black ABS plastic pieces and the easyflex edging.

Pleased with the results. I saw a Foha spoiler at the last 944Fest and it was not as awesome as I had imagined it. I actually prefer this look. But it still has shade-tree elements: the easyflex edging has imperfections and the black is not as black as the bumperettes and rear wing. It's a good driver's car solution though.

Creative and can't beat the price. I'm very familiar with the edging material as I've installed a couple hundred feet of the stuff round the yard. I never thought of adapting for a front lip!

There's nothing that says you can't paint that lip . Black to match the bumper pads or red to match the car . Nice DIY project you did there 👍

I did think about that, but after a year of use the paint wouldn't look so good. The material is pretty tough, so I think in the long run it will look better unpainted. It looks surprisingly original...it almost has an 80s patina out of the box.
