Rear hatch

I have not looked yet but has anyone ever purchased this from Porsche recently?

After being submerged in WD40 for over 2 years it did nothing to free the threads from the rubber/plastic insert. I will not be using WD to loosen threads anymore but just as a cleaner. I have a ton of other chemicals to choose from in my locker that are far better. But anyhow if anyone has been able to purchase this new from the Porsche Classic collection of new parts please reply.

Thanks

.

I replaced mine several years ago. Looks like they are all still available. The big rubber piece is 94451236501 and 94451236601 (left and right). The pins and rubber thread thing come up all over if you google 944 Hatch Pins... Be sure to get the plastic cups at the bottom of the latch too. I tried the aftermarket ones and they were only ok, so eventually changed them out for the factory ones (much quieter).

Awesome
Thanks
I was in the middle of cleaning it and turning the pin when it twisted off

I didn't know these existed. I have been using the delrin ones from only944.

How do you install the ones you've linked to? The top & bottom are both larger than the receiving bottom opening?

944Online's description says they are aftermarket. You said you tried aftermarket but didn't work for you. Are you referring to the delrins?

I was referring g to the delrin ones. They were ok, but just didn't hold the hatch as well -- I needed to make the hatch tighter than I wanted, etc. I could swear I replaced them with plastic pieces I got from the dealer. Did you look in PET for them? My memory isn't what it used to be, so it's possible I got whole new receivers with new plastic already in them....?

Last I checked, only the entire receiver was available from the dealer. PET seems to only show a complete unit #26 (#30 is described as "rubber sleeve")

When I got my delrins, I did have to replace the o-ring with a stronger one.. but that did the trick

You're right. I keep a little log of work I do on the 951. Here's the smoking gun entry:

August 8, 2014 – rear hatch popped open on freeway. Delrin seats are too hard to adjust, so order new clasps and pins from 944online.

I think I'll order the ones you used. Over the years, I occassionally have to remove the delrins and fit new o-rings. I'd like to try these original replicas

I am also curious how they are installed! I just can't picture it!

EDIT: Ordered! Thanks for the tip
