I recently followed this procedure viewtopic.php?t=341, which BTW was the main reason I joined CarPokes.
I was going to take the dash to a local upholstery shop but was a bit disillusioned when the guy said he would just cover over the top of the existing very cracked plastic. He also suggested they would need to cut some sort of aluminium strip to finish the demister holes in the top of the dash. At this point I decided to do the recovering myself. The demister holes did look a bit dodgy so I designed and printed a piece of trim to slot into the holes to finish things off a bit better. With the limitations of my printer I divided the piece into 6 parts, printed them and then glued together with super glue.
