Correct Black Paint For 1977 Fuchs Wheels

I have 4 original date matched Fuchs wheels from my 1977, Light Yellow 911S. The petals are in excellent shape but the black paint has worn away in sections .
Anyone have long term experience with a particular brand of paint thats stood up over a few years ?
I only intend to do this once .

Wurth Satin Black is a popular choice for this. I've used it and it's a very high quality spray paint. From memory, it had the look of Fuchs, but I never compared side by side. (The aluminum color is a dead ringer for phone dials.) My only reservation about any spray can is that they are not chemical-resistant and are less durable than catalyzed automotive paints (e.g., brake cleaner can damage it). If you are willing to mix and paint with a paint gun, then I'd just shop for a single stage (no clear) catalyzed satin black. Alternatively, they now make catalyzed paints in spray cans. There is a compartment in the bottom of the can that you break open to mix with the paint, which gives you a true catalyzed paint. Once mixed, the can only lasts about a day, however, before the paint hardens in the can. I've used type of paint several times and can confirm it produces a very hard, chemical resistant, finish.

I've done this a couple of times. Used Rustoleum Satin Black, was #7777, now looks like it may be #346951 Satin Canyon Black.

Great suggestion to use catalyzed paint !

Those wheels look great.
I used also Rustoleum satin black, and it looks great and lasts pretty good. You just have to leave them alone for a week or so before mounting tires etc.
I also use some small fender washers of the size of the area where the lug nuts go, and small screws so these sections are not painted. It's a lot easier as masking tape.
Here are the wheels I did for my 71 911. I grit blasted them, polished the lips, painted the inner section satin silver, and the section between the pedals satin black.

Quarters work well also, if you can spare them.
In my case, it's easier for me to find 5 quarters than it is to find 5 fender washers of the proper size.

I'll have to check if a Canadian quarter will work .
Was a primer used or just straight paint on the prepared surface ?
