I'll be posting details and instructions for making your own soon. In the meantime, I had lots of time to kill in a waiting room and came up with this cinematic teaser. It was supposed to be tongue in cheek, though not sure that comes through. :silent:

When you remove this bib from the oil filter console, what will prevent oil from dripping down into the wormhole down there?

Great question. I originally thought it would drain into the console, but no such luck. The oil just pools in the bib and goes nowhere. Seeing that confirmed why poking holes in the filter doesn't work to drain it like on some other cars. So at first I just sucked it out using a turkey baster, but that made the stuffing taste funny, so picked up an automotive fluid sucker similar to the one below. It sucks out 95% and then I use a paper towel to sop up anything that might otherwise dribble out.

Love it (not the oil flavored turkey).

Can you think of a similar bib for draining the radiator via the petcock?

This Lindsey radiator drain hose has worked like a charm for me.

I did something similar, but wasn't thrilled about having the hose just sitting there. I ended up making my own two-part drain. The fitting and valve mount permanently to the radiator, and the hose screws on when I need to drain it. I added a little skid plate under it out of an abundance of caution. :)

I wasn't planning to offer them for sale, per se, but I'm happy to make you one for shipping costs as my way of saying thanks for being an active part of the Carpokes community. :) Shoot me your address and I'll get it going... I'm going to get a third printer shortly, as my current printers are running non-stop these days (i.e., it might take a few days... ).
