Numeric Shift Cable Noise/Vibrations?

I recently purchased the Numeric shifter and cables for my 997. I've installed the shifter assembly, but hear that the cables cause vibration/noise in the cabin at certain rpms, so I haven't installed them yet.
Does anyone have first hand experience with the cables? Will the silicone overwrap sold by Numeric fix most of the noise/vibrations issues?

With the shifter assembly alone, how does it feel? Just right? If so, there will be no need to use the Numeric cables unless you'd want it to feel even more "crisp"/ "Bolt-Rifle"-like... The additional insulation material that wraps over the Numeric cables does help reduce noise, but even with it, I experienced a "little" but noticeable increase in noise, harshness, and vibration (NVH) stemming from the transmission. It didn't annoy me THAT much compared to say semi-solid engine mounts, but if you prefer your cabin noise and vibration to mimic OEM, then I recommend that you either keep your old cables or just install new OEM cables if your old ones are worn.

So far very happy with the shifter assembly alone! Added all the trim I want for now. Climate control in black en route. Need to code out the PCM. Love the new feel! Next up is test fitting surrounds....
