I'm looking for a space saver spare for my 914-6 conversion car. Question is: do all early 911's have the same 5 x 130 bolt pattern? I should mention that the wheels on this car are 16" Boxster. All of the used (eBay) space savers I can find are 17" or larger. Where are the 16" Boxster space saver spares??

I don't know for sure but I think many (most? all?) relatively modern Porsches will be 5 x 130.

Tire Rack can probably help. I also did a simple search using "911 bolt pattern" as search parameters. This site looks good and it indicates that 5 x 130 goes back quite a ways stating that 5 x 130 is the pattern for 911's from 1964 to present.

Thanks for the response. I went back to ebay and must have used a slightly different key word in the search because I found all kinds of 16" space savers. I bought one and now the problem is that the wheel is the widest part of the spare (since the tire is collapsed) so when it rests in the front trunk it makes metal to metal contact with the trunk floor. Thinking about covering a portion of the floor with Dynamat, then covering that with the same carpet that is on the bulkhead.

The early 911 (longhood) have the 15" normal tire. The G-body got a larger gas tank and they used the space saver tire, and the car have a compressor to inflate it.

Here is a picture of the G-body spare.


Also the 944 used these space savers.

And yes, they are all 130 x 5

If the 944 spare is the same, I suspect they are pretty easy to find -- like this one sitting out by my shed... Doesn't quite look the same as the G-body spare though, in condition or design. I see a 951 part number stamped on it, so presumably it is different from the standard 944 spare in some way.

Looks like the late 951 used alloy wheels. The 944 N/A I owned all had the same steel wheels like the G-body. I use them for roll-around wheel during restoration.
