Speed and Reference Sensor Tester -- Carmonica

For those who missed this previously, I thought I'd post up this video of my "Carmonica" gizmo. It's a simple (passive, no cpu) device you plug on to the main DME harness connector that tells you if the speed and reference sensors are working. I always had to keep this stuff on the down-low before, but happy to show the world now. :) I don't have any made up these days, but would be willing to do a batch again if there were interest. Very homebrew with 3D printed case, etc. Pretty sure it would work on a 3.2 Carrera too, based on specs, but never personally confirmed that...

I can't remember what I sold them for -- maybe US$125? They take a lot of effort to assemble and print the case, etc. so I was probably making $1 and hour on them. As such, I was really just making them for people who really needed one -- kind of a "for the good of the cause" thing. Shipping down under is spendy too. Tell you what, get a dozen new users to sign up for Carpokes and say 'Cyberpunky sent me' and I'll make you one for free.. :) I have limited parts but would make the same offer to others on request, or a SpeedoBooster if preferred. :)

Edit: by new users, I mean real Porsche fans, not just Aunt Veronica and her choir group.

I think I could name a lot more than that already here from my spreading the word Tom haha but I think I'll have to wait a bit before another promo campaign on FB or I'll get accused of spamming the groups ;)

Any chance of getting one of these?

If it helps, it's for my awesome 924s/951 swap

Interesting car. We need to see more of it and what's going on under the hood. :) Are you having no-start problems? I'll have to go see if I have the parts to make you one.

I would be interested in a tester as well, assuming they work on 924s?

If you mean the mid-80's version with the 944 motor, yes it would work. I haven't made a Carmonica in years, but should have all the supplies still. Email me at [email protected] if interested. I'd say $99 plus shipping (the main connector alone costs about a third of that...). If you are having problems with your car, start a thread and we can probably help. :)
