I was reading on the other forum you were considering the Bendpak HD-7W. How is it working out for you? I’m considering one with a set of quickjacks to do suspension / wheel jobs. It *should* allow for the best of both worlds (4-post stability with 2-post benefits).

I ended up getting the Bendpak HD-9, along with a rolling bridge jack to wheel and suspension work. I wanted a lift for as long as I can remember, and owning it just confirms what I always thought. In my younger days, I changed clutches and even pulled motors on jack stands, mostly on my back, but that's becoming increasingly difficult these days. So the lift came at just the right time in my life. The Bandpak HD-9 is perfect for my needs -- no complaints -- but now that I own it I'm not so sure it's all that different from brands costing a lot less. I have a 4 post (Tuxedo brand) and a set of Quickjacks, but not stacked together. I’ve seen these pictures on the internet as well, but I have no idea how they do that. The Quickjacks are heavy beasts and you need to slide them into position from the sides - you cannot drive over them to position the car. (To be clear, you can drive over them in the sense of straddling them if they are arranged together under the center of the car, but you cannot have the wheels/tires drive over them.) So if you want to put them on top of the 4-post, you need to position the car first and then manhandle the Quickjacks up into position.

Nothing is impossible if you have friendly neighbors and lay in a supply of pizza and beer, I guess…

Congrats, Tom, you won't be sorry. I've mentioned in the past how happy I am that I bought my MaxJax, wish I'd taken the plunge sooner. As for crawling under the vehicle, I remember taking my 240Z transmission out and laying it on my chest, no room for a tyranny jack, but hey, I was only 24 back then! Now in addition to my bad back I have a knee that thinks it's 75(it is!) and that's slowing me down even more, but I'm not giving up. The GTS and the 540i need a brake flush so they both are going on the lift soon.
