So do the quick Jacks get a 911 high enough to remove an engine? I am liking the portability and if I could use for that as well I’m sold !

From what my 911 mx buddy, and buddy with a 914 and 911 have said, just use a floor jack and stands to drop the motor. I believe there are adapters for floor jacks out there, that help balance the motor/trans assy for ease of removal and install. At least I know there is on the 914.

I’ve done the removal with the floor jack and jack stands. I now have a set of Quickjacks. I haven’t done an engine removal again yet but the Quickjacks lift the car higher than I got with the floor jack and jack stands so I expect it to work. In either case it is necessary to remove the rear valence and bumper. FWIW, even with the jack adapter things are a bit wobbly and scary. That’s part of the reason I got the Quickjacks.

Well I bit the Bullet and ordered the QJ 5000TL tonight
I hope it will help a lot with the 84 Targa and my 2 Honda CRV's
I will see how it does height wise... supposedly 24" plus with the rear valence off , the engine "should" clear
even if not it will help with doing a ton of other stuff

I bought the 5000TL back in Oct. 2022. I have not done an engine drop yet, but I plan on doing that soon.
I have done an oil change, and it's an absolute breeze with the car up on the QuickJack. It also makes detailing a lot easier.

I've done two engine drop on my '88 and I would MUCH prefer to be using something like a Quick Jack. I can do it, but a lift would be better and ALSO very useful for other projects. I don't plan on ever taking the engine out of my Carrera again so won't be buying one but as they say...never say never.

I wish there was a scissor version of the QuickJack so that the car does not rotate backward as it raises.

I don't have a 911 but I got a quickjack a few months ago and it's the cat's pajamas! I don't know why I waited so long to get one. The one complaint is that the lift point spread is marginal for the Macan, so I might have to get the extensions. But so far for the 944 and my M3 it's one of the best tools I've every bought.
