Extending steering wheel for taller drivers

I’m looking for anyone who has extended their steering wheel and what parts they used to do it. Pelican Parts has a steering wheel extender/adapter for Momo steering wheels, but has anyone used it with a standard Porsche steering wheel? Any other source for extending a stock Porsche steering wheel?

BTW, I am 6’4” and have a 1982 911SC Targa. I drive with the seat slightly reclined and almost all the way back to not hit the roof and give my legs some room, but if I push the seat all the way back I am not close enough to the steering wheel. Moving the steering wheel back 1-2” could be perfect. The Momo adapter mentioned above moves the wheel about 3/4”. But anything would help.

Also, I just renovated the interior and had the steering wheel recovered in black leather. After that expense, I am not eager to replace the steering wheel with a Momo steering wheel.

Apparently Porsche offered an option for G-body 911s to extend the steering wheel, but it seems like very few people checked that option. Someone on Rennlist was selling an extender several years ago.

I have a 4 spoke sport wheel with the 1" extension. It needs to be reupholstered, Joaquin Samper down in Miami FL is the guy to do it. It's the sport version so it has the thicker wheel and small diameter.

Does @Jsamper have extensions that might work for this 911SC steering wheel?

I believe I may have a 3 spoke S/C wheel with extended hub. If you are interested I will take a look for it. Let me know. I can also be reached at [email protected]

I purchased a new OEM wheel with an extended hub. Believe it added 3 inches. Bought it on ebay, but did have to put new leather on it; used my old horn button. It was a swap, nothing custom about it. I did it for knee room on my 87 911 cab. I also removed the seat spacers (between rail n floor) which dropped my seat maybe a 1/2”

Only down side: my son liked to touch the dash with his fingers while driving. Now he can’t. And you’re a little bit further from the stalk - turn signals, flashers, cruise. Same factory look. Still have the original wheel. It wasn’t an add on hub, the extension hub and steering wheel are one piece. (I think).
